OEB5-Level Personnel Protection
The system meets OEB5 personnel-protection requirements and has passed third-party testing with an Occupational Exposure Limit below 0.05 µg/m³.
A high-pressure exhaust fan generates turbulent airflow and maintains negative pressure inside the working area. This operating principle helps retain hazardous powders and reagents within the isolator and prevents their release into the surrounding environment.
The system is designed to achieve three essential containment objectives:
- Prevent lightweight solid powders from spilling and becoming airborne during operation;
- Minimize cross-contamination between powders, reagents, and the external environment;
- Protect operators from inhalation exposure to hazardous powders and chemicals.
High-Precision Weighing in an Enclosed Environment
The Tailin Containment Isolator supports several levels of weighing accuracy, including:
- 1/10,000;
- 1/100,000;
- 1/1,000,000.
Integrating high-precision weighing equipment inside the isolator makes the system particularly suitable for potent compounds requiring stringent control of weight and dosage.
Weighing and dispensing can be performed within the negative-pressure environment, reducing the need to open the system or move highly potent materials into uncontrolled areas. This approach improves operator safety while supporting process accuracy and consistency.
Secure, Closed Material Transfer
Materials can be transferred into and out of the isolator through:
- A continuous liner system;
- A Rapid Transfer Port (RTP).
These closed-transfer solutions help maintain containment during material loading, sampling, and product removal. They also minimize direct contact between operators and highly potent materials.
The isolator is additionally equipped with a mobile SS316L liquid-waste container, facilitating the collection and handling of waste generated during high-potency operations.
Controlled Operating Environment
The equipment can be installed in a general background area while maintaining a static Grade C environment inside the isolator.
This capability helps optimize cleanroom infrastructure requirements and provides greater flexibility in equipment placement. At the same time, the internal working area remains controlled for weighing and sampling processes requiring stringent environmental conditions.
All doors are fitted with inflatable seals to maintain system integrity. Observation windows are made from 15 mm thick tempered glass, providing clear visibility while preserving the containment performance of the enclosure.
An exhaust port is installed on top of the isolator and connected to piping that directs the exhaust air outdoors.
Applications in High-Potency Laboratories
The isolator supports a wide range of laboratory operations, including:
- Weighing;
- Dispensing;
- Sampling;
- Solution preparation;
- Analysis;
- Moisture titration;
- Infrared scanning;
- Other procedures involving highly potent powders and chemicals.
Performing these activities within one enclosed environment helps reduce occupational exposure and improves cross-contamination control.
Applications in API Manufacturing
For active pharmaceutical ingredient production, the Tailin Containment Isolator can support operations such as:
- Centrifugation;
- Filtration;
- Drying;
- Mixing;
- Milling;
- Weighing;
- Dispensing.
The system is particularly suitable for highly potent APIs, toxic products, and other materials requiring rigorous exposure control.
Applications in Solid Dosage Manufacturing
The isolator can also be incorporated into solid-dosage processes such as:
- Granulation;
- Drying;
- Mixing;
- Tablet compression;
- Coating;
- Other solid-formulation operations.
Negative-pressure powder containment helps protect operators and minimizes material dispersion throughout the production area.
Broad Application Coverage
In addition to pharmaceutical manufacturing, the system may be used in:
- Cosmetics production;
- Biological-product research;
- Physico-chemical laboratory studies;
- High-risk powder and chemical handling;
- Processes requiring stringent exposure and cross-contamination control.
