OVERVIEW

CME cyclic corrosion test chambers are designed to offer flexibility in accommodating various CCT specifications. They can be programmed to perform a wide range of corrosion tests, including wet cycles, dry cycles, controlled humidity, and salt spray tests, all within a single chamber.

CME offers both a cyclic corrosion test chamber (SF-CCT) and a traditional salt spray chamber (SF-SST). The SF-CCT chambers are compatible with multiple test standards, including automotive standards, and can alternate between various humidity programs along with the traditional salt spray.

In recent years, cyclic corrosion tests have been shown to provide a more realistic simulation of real-world corrosive environments compared to traditional salt spray testing methods. The salt spray test typically maintains a constant temperature (ambient to 55°C) in continuous mode, lacking the variations seen in real-life conditions such as condensation humidity and air drying. This makes the cyclic corrosion test more reliable. While CME offers both variants of chambers, it recommends the SF-CCT for its ability to conduct a range of corrosion tests in a single chamber.
